I have to tell this rare episode of good customer service. I recently bought a suitcase which I wanted to use as hand luggage for flights. The suitcase I bought, Epic, said ‘hand luggage approved’ so I thought I’m on the safe side - but at home I found out that it was 3cm thinker than Ryanair limits. So I googled and googled hoping to find someone telling about their experience with the epic suitcase and Ryanair. But nothing. Nothing at all. I then found out that the company producing epic only openen half a year ago and is in Gothenburg, Sweden (I’m in Denmark). So I send them an email, asking whether they had tried squeezing their suitcase into the Ryanair-boxes. And one day later I got this answer and the attached video:
“Thanks for your e-mail and sorry for the somewhat late answer… Your EPIC Pop case meets requirements for SAS and IATA among others. However, we were extra curious after your inquiry yesterday and therefore made some extra checking with Ryan Air here in Gothenburg. EPIC Pop went into the “box” OK, but with just a bit of resistance around the wheels… All in all it was OK, but I recommend not to “overstuff” so that your case has a chance to somewhat compress into the box if necessary. We even talked with Ryan Air personnel and they said that EPIC Pop should be OK, but of course this is no 100% guarantee. I hope that this is of help to you. Please don’t hesitate to get back to me if you like!”
